Heart of Texas Direct Primary Care gives Waco families a better way to see a primary care provider. I'm Trevin Rube, a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and I built this practice because traditional, insurance based healthcare wasn't working for my patients or for me. With this membership model, you pay one simple monthly fee for real access to your provider. No copays. No rushed visits. No insurance company standing between us.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)
Direct primary care, often called DPC, is a membership based healthcare model. Instead of billing insurance for every visit, you pay a flat monthly fee directly to the practice. That fee covers most of the care you need day to day, including office visits, telehealth visits, and direct text or phone access to your provider.
Because I'm not spending my time on insurance paperwork, I can spend it on you. Most visits in a DPC practice run much longer than a traditional 15 minute appointment. That means we actually have time to talk through what's going on, not just treat the symptom in front of us.
This model isn't insurance. You'll still want a separate plan for hospital stays, specialists, and emergencies. Think of it as the foundation of your healthcare, with insurance covering the rest.
I'm Trevin Rube, APRN, FNP-C, and I've spent over 15 years in healthcare, including more than 11 years working as a nurse practitioner. I completed my graduate training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and my undergraduate work at Baylor University, right here in Waco.
Before I opened this practice, I worked in the emergency room. I kept seeing the same pattern. Patients would pay out of pocket for a rushed primary care visit, not get real answers, and end up back in the ER for something that should have been caught earlier. That wasn't a patient problem. That was a system problem, and it's the reason I started Heart of Texas Direct Primary Care.
I keep my patient panel smaller by design so I can give each person and issue the real time they need and deserve. I get to know your history, your habits, and your goals, because that's the only way I can actually help you stay healthy.
Meet Your provider
Joining Heart of Texas Direct Primary Care is simple. You choose a monthly membership based on age, and that membership covers office visits, telehealth visits, and direct phone or text access to me, with a same day response.
Age Group Monthly Fee
Age 0 to 17 $40/month
Age 18 to 64 $65/month
Age 65 and over $100/month
Families save more. Each additional family member is $10 off the standard monthly rate, and paying a year in advance saves you 10 percent. Paying six months in advance saves you 5 percent.
Same day and next day appointments are often available, and most HSA and FSA accounts can be used to pay your membership. If you're currently enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, the VA, or Indian Health Service, federal rules mean I'm not able to enroll you in this DPC practice at this time.
Some in office procedures and medications, like IV fluids or breathing treatments, carry a small added cost. DPC members receive a discount on these services, and pricing is always shared with you before treatment.

No. This model covers your primary care needs through a monthly membership. You'll still want a separate insurance plan for hospital care, specialists, and emergencies.
